20200120 - Six day trip for Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, USA

Wonderful experience!

1. It's the first time that I took A380 (Airbus)

It feels much better than smaller planes.

Staying 20 hours in the same plane is all right. Even with a six year old kid.  :-)

2. Life is hard

Some passengers took all their plane stuff away, including small blankets.

3. Live in USA is expensive

Walt Disney World single day ticket is US$114 ! No doubt it's going to be US$200+ with FastPass.

And the food is expensive! US$49 for adult dinner buffet, US $29 for child (less than 9 year old). For breakfast buffet, it's US$29 and US$19.

For fast food, a meal may cost around US$17  minimum for adult. $3.5 for drink (Coke or other Carbonated drinks).

Basically, for this kind of trip, we need to prepare US$1500 per family per day + plane tickets.

4. Americans are friendly and happy

Maybe it's because......we were in Walt Disney World  :-)

The Disney World is always full of people! Without FastPass, I guess we had to spend 5+ hours per day in queue. (what's the point, by the way?)

No doubt the US economy is strong.

5. Temperature in USA is quite different from Australia

When the weather forcast says the temperature is between 2 to 12 celcius degree, then it means most of the daytime it's under 5. In Australia, most of the daytime it's above 9.

6. Unexpected issue

Coronavirus. It broke out in a few days!
We spent a lot of time check the relevant news during this trip. :-(

7. Security check is horrible

Not just at airport, it seems there is always a fingerprint scanning device waiting when there is more 500 people in the spot. And, the bags are scanned by X-ray with the fingerprint scanning.

It make the place safe, but slow down the entry procedure. It's annoying.

8. Quite a lot of overweight people in US

In Disney hotel restaurant, if you spend $20 to buy a large mug, you can get unlimited refill of Carbonated drinks while you stay there. This trick actually just encourage everyone to drink Carbonated drinks as much as possible.

Most of hotel visitors bought this amazing large mug.

Not hard to imagine other restaurants also have similar tricks.

9. The Pandora ride in Animal Kingdom is absolutely amazing

It's the perfect combination of computer VR and roller coaster ride. Lucky we had FastPass+, or else, 3.5 hours waiting queue will ruin the day. :-)

Why I believe in DogeCoin

We heard the news that El Salvador choose BitCoin as their fiat currency. Unfortunately this is going to fail, because BitCoin transaction is too slow and too expensive. DogeCoin version 1.21 is going to drastically reduce the transaction time and cost soon. That's exciting. Two obvious questions here. 1. Why other crypto coins don't do the same improvement? Because DogeCoin is going to sacrifice one core principle a bit: decentralized structure. This is unforgivable SIN to most of the Blockchain experts, but I like the idea. Of course decentralized structure is still there, but if my understanding is correct, there will be less major nodes on the chain network. 20230415 Skin in the game - Real estate agencies don't have skin in the game. They are hired by home owners to negotiate with buyers about the price. It's worth spending more on commission fee to get better agencies. They need to work hard to get better deal for the home owner.
